Buena Park Library District

The Buena Park Library District (“BPLD”) was formed in 1919 after the determined members of Buena Park Women’s Club successfully petitioned to form the library through a public election. Through the years, the library has had several locations before commissioning famous architect William Pereira & Associates to design its current facility in 1969, which is now a historically significant structure.
BPLD serves a population of over 83,000 residents within the City of Buena Park and a small unincorporated area. The library provides educational and recreational programming for all ages and interests, including story time, book clubs, crafts, and performances. In addition to traditional print resources, BPLD offers digital books, magazines, comics, audiobooks, and streaming video and music. Patrons can check out hotpots, nature backpack kits, learning tablets, and more.
BPLD frequently partners with the City, schools, other special districts, and non-profits to provide education and community connections. The library serves as a cooling center, a Vote Center, hosts blood drives, and serves lunch to children during the summer months. The library is also a United States Passport Acceptance Facility and a provides high speed internet for work and study. Additional information is available at www.buenaparklibrary.org.
